History
The Parahyidae was described by Harvey (1992) who suggested it was related to the Neobisiidae and Syarinidae.
Composition
The family consists of only a single genus and species, Parahya submersa(Bristowe). Distribution
Parahya submersa is found in littoral habitats in Australasia.
