Flying Flatbread

Yesterday's blog post is a bit late. We found out that the internet is functional only during working hours so I wrote my post but couldn't send it :( Also, one of our generators, affectionately referred to as gennies, is down but just got fixed. Hence, we now have internet, and here is my post:

Today we headed out to the cave, it was very windy which transformed our flatbread into flying saucers. From all my many hours exploring caves with my friends in minecraft, I made sure I packed enough pork chops and wood to brave what lies underneath. To get there you abseil down a 20m vertical tube which opens up to one of the caverns but as you're coming down all you see is darkness so it was a bit scary! I had to wait at least 5 minutes for my nerves to calm down after the descent.

The cave itself was absolutely amazing. When you land you are standing on this massive boulder and you can see many more scattered around the cave so you have to rock-clamber (as opposed to climb) your way down to the main cavern below. I won't go into too much detail today of what it looks like, but I'll post up a few pictures soon.

You really do get an appreciation of how it is a death trap for small, unsuspecting animals because as you make you way through the cave you come across many dead birds in their various stages of decomposition.
