The Collections and Research for Maritime has three sections: Maritime Archaeology, Maritime History and Submarine Heritage. 

Maritime Archaeology / Shipwrecks

The Maritime Archaeology section has information on Shipwrecks, the Artefacts and Shipwrecks databases , the Duyfken Project, information on the Outreach Program, a list of publications published by the department, archaeological sites and information on courses related to maritime archaeology.

Maritime History
The Maritime History section has information on artefacts, the Richard McKenna Pictorial Database, historic Boats and Fremantles Fishing Fleets.

Submarine Heritage
The Submarine Heritage section has information Western Australia's Submarine History that dates back to World War One.
