Western Australians and cricket 15 December 2007 to 27 April 2008 , Western Australian Museum – Albany Thursday, January 31, 2008 For the first time Albany locals and visitors have the chance to get close to some precious and personal cricketing memorabilia belonging to greats like ‘Gilly, Lillee and Langer’ - all in the one location, at the HOWZAT! exhibition at the Western Australian Museum – Albany. The exhibition is one of the first to gather together more than 100 rare items from WA cricketers of the past and present to celebrate our State’s love of the game. See Rod Marsh’s cut down wicket keeper pads, Adam Gilchrist’s record making wicket taking gloves, Lillee’s first Test shoes along with contributions from Justin Langer, Mike Hussey, Zoe Goss and so much more! There will be something for everyone, from our love of backyard cricket right through to Lilly’s ‘combat’ aluminium bat. Test your own bowling speed at the Speed Demon Bowling Nets, or try out your commentating skills at the Commentator’s Box. Howzat! will give you the opportunity to pull up an esky and take in our State’s cricket heritage, or pick up a bat and hit some backyard sixes of your own. Come and celebrate WA’s love of cricket and see the memorabilia which has helped make our sporting heroes famous. Howzat!
