Albany Museum

The museum overlooks picturesque Princess Royal Harbour, on the site of first European settlement in Western Australia.

 

The Museum in Albany provides exhibitions, public programs, educational programs and information on the unique natural and social history of the region, both past and present.

Discover Western Australia's oldest historic precinct and the stories of Major Lockyer, the convicts, the settlers and the explorers who came before.

Learn about the indigenous 'Noongar' people of the Great Southern and the influence of Mokare, a young Noongar warrior.

Explore the wonders of the natural world from the formation of the Stirling Ranges to the unique flora and fauna of the region.

Location

Residency Road, Albany.

Right on the foreshore at the bottom of York Street.

Open Daily: 9.30am - 4.30pm, excluding Wednesdays
Closed: Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Years Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday and Anzac Day.

Disabled access is available to the Residency, Eclipse, Artisans and School buildings.
