Bone Diggers - Mystery of a Lost Predator (DVD) Western Australian Museum Join fossil experts as they descend into a series of caves deep below Australia's Nullarbor Plain. There they discover one of the world's greatest fossil finds - the complete skeleton of a marsupial lion, Thylacoleo. When alive, Thylacoleo was formidable top-end predator, about twice the weight of a leopard. It was a stealth and ambush artist with enormous teeth and a serious set of talons, opposable "clawed thumbs" capable of disemboweling and an attitude to match. Thylacoleo's life ended tragically after it tumbled into the cave more than 500,000 years ago. Using state of the art science, museum researches set about recreating Thylacoleo's life, death and nasty habits. Running Time: 52 minutes |
