Helmut Bannasch created an import business - Master Decor Shops. His wife and younger daughter returned to Germany in 1975. He retired to Germany in 1987 and died in 1994.
His eldest daughter, Christiane Bannasch, lives in Fremantle and he has four Australian grandchildren.
