Read their story

Filomena came as a proxy bride to Salvatore Barone in 1931. It was the Great Depression but she never complained about the hardship. She was a devout Catholic, a faith she instilled in all her children. She had six (the first stillborn). They were very poor but never went without anything because she was a great cook and homemaker. She loved and adored her husband and children. She loved Australia. She was a pioneer. She lived in Main St, Osborne Park, the house she built with her husband till shortly before her death in 2003.
