Arrived in Australia to escape from communist persecution in their home country of Latvia. Classifed as displaced persons in migrant camp in Germany, provided with assisted passge to migrate to Australia in 1949. Worked as timber cutter near Pinjarra for 18 months before moving to Melbourne Australia.
