Read their story

James aged fifteen, arrived to work on his Uncle Charles' farm in Morawa in 1924. Charles Jukes had arrived about 1912. In 1936 James married Alma Stokes. They had eight children and twenty four grandchildren. Alma's great-great grandparents, George and Rachel Stokes, had arrived in Fremantle aboard the Britannia in 1830.
