Raised family of 7. Active in whaling in Fremantle & Albany. Owner & Master of whaling vessel 20 ton "MYSTERY". John Doggett & son William were lost at sea on 27 June 1870. Their bodies were never recovered. Matilda was a nurse & midwife. A second son, Charles was also lost at sea in 1887.
