Deported to Siberia, Feb. 1940. Travelled through Uzbekistan, Persia, India and on to displaced person's camp in Tanganyika (1942 - 1949). Arrived in Fremantle, Feb. 1950. Married Ignacy Tarnowy the same year. 1st child, Richard, born while living in tents in Williams where Ignacy was employed in public works - pipelines, roads and construction of Wellington Dam. Later, settled in Collie where Ignacy became a miner, and 3 more children - Lola, Marek and Gosia - were born. All 4 children became teachers and educators, and taught throughout WA. 5 grandchildren.
