With knife, fork, spoon, little else and speaking no English, dad was paid $10.00 per week for the journey to Australia. Originally disembarking at Melbourne, dad drew straws to get off at Fremantle. Later working all over the North-West, and down to Nannup meeting my mother Margaret Patricia McGee.
