Tauno, Aune and their three sons settled in Rawlinna, via Bonegilla and Woodside, where Tauno worked as fettler. In 1960 they moved to Ballarat, Victoria, and in 1966 to Perth. Tauno worked as labourer and Aune variously as nursing assistant, tea lady and cleaner.
