Henry Kimber was transported to Australia for 'maliciously killing a mare'. He died in 1867 aged 37, at Geraldton. One of his sons never married. The other, Thomas, married Eliza Gilbert, with whom he had nine children. Many of his descendants still live in the Geraldton area.
