Born in Poland. As a teenager, forcibly taken to Germany to work. Never saw family again. After war ended, worked in Germany and Holland before sailing to Perth in 1949. Worked as a grader driver for Main Roads Department. Married Regina Czekalowska in 1959. 2 daughters, Veronic (1960) and Jan (1962).
