Advised to move to a warmer climate because his son suffered chronic bronchitis, Arthur preceded his wife Clara & children John & Mary to WA. He worked first as a timber cutter in Dwellingup. Arthur built the house at 36 Salvado St. Cottesloe. The family moved there about 1918.
