Second son of William & Maria (Robins). Left school at 10 & worked on farms. Then went to London. Guard on underground railway. Emigrated 30th November 1910. Worked for Austin Piesse in Arthur River where he met Jane Haygarth. Married in St. John's in Albany. Farmed vegetables & fruit at Kronkup, raising sons, Bill & Tom & daughter, Violet.
