    BRIAN and PATRICIA met in July 1962 at Bishopton Road Youth Club in Stockton-on-Tees. They married on 25.1.1964. Their first home was 8 Wharf St, then 18 Inskip Walk and finally 8 Sheraton Park Ave, all in Stockton-on-Tees.

    On 22.10.1971 the family migrated to Cape Town, South Africa, leaving Southampton on board the MV Northern Star. Brian worked in the Ship Repair Industry.
    In February 1972 they moved to Evander in the Eastern Transvaal where Brian worked in a goldmine.
    In April 1972 they returned to Cape Town and the shipping industry where they stayed until September 1974. ASA was born at Groote Schuur Hospital.
    On 11.9.1974 the family left Cape Town on board the MV Guglielmo Marconi arriving in Fremantle, Western Australia on 22.9.1974.
    They settled in Coolbellup and JONATHAN, PAULA, ELSA and ASA attended KOORILLA PRIMARY SCHOOL, and then NORTH LAKE HIGH SCHOOL.
    JONATHAN did an Electrical Pre-Apprenticeship at Hamilton Hill High School followed by an apprenticeship at B.P. Kwinana Oil Refinery.
    He died from Meningitis on 11.2.1987 age 22.

    PAULA worked in the retail business and married PAUL in 1987. PAUL works at B.P. Kwinana Refinery as an Electrical/Instrument Technician. They live in Rockingham Western Australia.

    ELSA also worked in the retail business and has now been a carer for a number of years. She married ROBERT in 1987. Robert is a boilermaker. They live in Rockingham, Western Australia.

    ASA did a metal fabrication pre-apprenticeship at South Fremantle Technical College followed by an apprenticeship at Australia Ship Building Industries. He lives in Fremantle.

    BRIAN and PATRICIA lived in 14 Rinaldo Place from 1974 until 1987 when they moved to 18 Hadley Gardens, Kardinya. In 1994 they moved to 40 Warner Lane, Rockingham and then in 1996 to 9 Derwent Place, Rockingham.

  • Brian George Lowther passed away on the 9th of October 2012 at 7.45am , at Rockingham hospital after his 13 month battle with pancreatic cancer
    They say its a beautiful journey
    From the old world to the new
    One day I'll climb the staircase
    To lead me back to you
    And when we reach the garden
    Where we all are free from pain
    I'll wrap my arms around you
    And we'll never part again.

  • Dear madam Patricia,

    I am Kumar, Electrical engineer from India.I,m good friend of Mr. Brian lowther.I,m met Brian in Singapore shipyard at year2001.

    I was communicate with Brian through letter and phone calls until 2009.I expressed convey my wishes every Christmas and New year times. He was sent a great gift for my marriage at year of 2003. I was sent my daughter photo at the year 2004 on Brian request.

    At year of 2009 met Brian and you in world trade center at Singapore before boarding “QUEEN MARY 2" ship.

    I came back India at May 2009.After that i can't able to communicate with Brian due to lose of address and mail ID and also busy in shipbuilding projects in India.

    This year I was plan to send Christmas& New year greetings to Brian. I go through "Google" to find contact details.Unexpectly found that Brian passed away on 09-10-2012 from Western austrlia museum website.

    I shocked and saddened to hear of your husband's death .Mr.Brian lowther was kind and geniue person.Words alone cannot express my sympathy on the death of your beloved husband with cancer.

    He was such a distinguished man and had such a pleasing personality. He was so much fun to be around and I missed his great wit and charm.

    My deepest sympathy is with you and your family at this very sad and difficult time. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

    Through museum website I knew your family history.It,s very intersting and like nice historical tale.I,ll keep on touch with your family forever.
