Sponsored by sister, Josephine Cheyney. 18 years old, I came alone to Australia for £5.00 from Beaumaris, North Wales. Later seven members, through same sponsor followed to settle in Melbourne. Now married to Russian refugee from China - name Novikov, live in Mackay. Two children, three grandchildren. What an adventure.
